Qualifying from University of Leeds school of Medicine in 1993, Mr Siddiqui went on to pursue a career in Orthopaedics and Knee surgery. Higher surgical training undertaken in Birmingham and Coventry, and a one year Knee Fellowship in ACL and cartilage repair making him an expert in this field.
Mr Siddiqui’s practice consists exclusively of knee surgery of any sort. His expertise and experience in ACL reconstruction (cruciate ligament) is the largest in the hospitals in which he practices, and is regularly audited with ongoing data collection of his results. The latest results reveal a 97% accuracy in graft placement and success with complete functional return to the sport. He is carrying out the largest number of cartilage repair procedures in the department with very promising results in this growing area of interest and research.
Routine knee operations include arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), partial knee replacement and total knee replacements. Mini incision and “female” knee replacements are offered privately. Audit of Mr Siddiquis knee replacement results revealed an accuracy comparable to the accuracy obtained by computer assisted knee replacement.

Personal Statement
Appointed since 2005 as a Consultant with a specialist interest in knee surgery, my main areas of expertise are all aspects of knee surgery and general orthopaedic trauma . I aim to keep abreast of changes in the fields in which I practice, and endeavour to maintain the highest standards for patients under my care.
My routine workload presently includes on call commitment with a practice in orthopaedic trauma alongside an elective practice of knee surgery. Trauma workload includes all fractures and musculoskeletal injuries but excludes skull and major head and spinal injuries. Patients include outpatients, inpatients and major orthopaedic trauma victims. Elective workload comprises all knee problems referred to me via their GPs or consultant colleagues in the orthopaedic unit where I practice. These often include second opinion situations or complex knee problems along with routine straightforward knee pathology.
Elective Operations include:
Arthroscopic Knee procedures (average 400 per annum)
ACL Reconstruction (average 80-100 per annum)
Total Knee Replacement (average 80 per annum)
Partial Knee Replacement (average 10-20 per annum)
Revision ACL Reconstruction (average 5-10 per annum)
